Once upon a time there was a princess.
A regular girl, not too high-style, just fine, and a princess. She had just taken over her dad's job and was working hard to rule the kingdom.
That would have been much easier if the princess had some kind of previous experience in kingdom management, but she had none, she was just 14. So shortly after playing with Barbie dolls, our little princess had to learn how to organize a territorry, bring food to the people, and also security, and roads, and things like schools, laws and stuff. That was pretty hard. The princess had barely learnt her algebra and she had to decide wether it was a good idea to raise an army. Or to decide the right price for a house in Kingdom City.
Well, our princess (her name was Lily) really did not had a choice. She had to do it, so her mother said. "You are the princess now! You have thousand things to do! Ain't got no time to lose."
At least Lily's mother the Queen was helping her the best she could. There was also a lad, a knight of the king, and a Philospher Stone who could reflect sometimes the soul of the late King. It could come handy, in times of big crisis, to take a bit of advice from the ancients, so was the power of this stone. And the lad knight Simon was of very good counsel, in addition to be a great Polo player.
Thanks to him, the stone and the Queen, she made it trough the years and the Kingdom flourished, grew and the people was happy.
One day though, the aliens attacked.
That was a cloudy, breezy october evening and from the sky came a bright red blow of thunder. The Big Tree in front of the Castel broke in two. That was awful, people were screaming and running and losing their minds. Round flying saucers, buzzing and deafening, approached houses and were searching the ground, looking for pipes and sources. Aliens were coming for water.
Our princess didn't know how to do first. She was stuck, in total shock, and was trying to get a grip and find a way to save the Kingdom. The only way to get trough was to decide with Simon, the Queen, and maybe the stone (if it would work!).
She didn't know a lot of things a bout these Aliens, just that they had simultaneously attacked all neighboring kingdoms, gulping all earths life out of the rivers. A crow had just brought the message to her from over the hills.
"If they are coming this way from all around the world, we're done! Was she telling herself."The only thing I can do is call the army and just go in it. Qui vivra verra.
"so they're thirsty! I'll show them how thirsty we are too!" claimed Lily, calling the other knights, pulling her cool armor on and leaving to go fight with the troops against those dry aliens.
"Wait a second! yelled the Queen. You should get a second advice; we know nothing of them, we might just go lose our forces for nothing!"
"She's right, said Simon, rubbing his head against his helmet, thinking.
"we have to come up with something more organized. OK, Lily, you told me the message was coming from east or west?
"I don't know, it was the regular messenger crow, It just came in circles from over the hills saying that we were surrounded"
"was it signed by thy neigbor" asked a ratteling voice from the back of the princess office, were the Philosopher stone began to produce a lot of light and was shining from inside.
"No, It wasn't"
There is a chance, said Simon, that they are lying, bluffing. The other kingdoms always sign their message! Especially in this situation. The Aliens pretend they are thousands but maybe they are as afraid as we are and have no back up army.
"so we should go! Let's take them from backup, see right now? they're busy over the Giants Forest lake, thinking we are too scare to move. The patrols above make a lot of noise but they are actually only 3 in the 4 skies.
So they went. And then they fought, they fought really, really, extremely hard. Several times the princess was about to give up but she would see the people fighting around her and that was a relief, a reason to do it.
So they won. The last aliens finally got lost in the sky, taking jars of water with them. But at least the kindgom was saved. Their loss was huge, desolating; people, places, rivers, everything was there to rebuild.
That was the moment that was the hardest for the princess.
It was late october, there was no TV anymore, a Kingdom to rebuild, families counting on you to do something, and water to redistribute again. The aliens destroyed plenty of houses, did crap everywhere.
She would have much preferred going to the movies than doing that.
She sat down and tought about how she was going to do this. She had to reunite people and give them comfort, and care. There was things to organize, maybe, she was thinking, that is the good moment for change? I can install Republic here. After all the work I might want to take some tome off, to travel.
"I will go with you during your far away campains, she said to the knight.
She would also go and help rebuilding the houses with her hands, singing songs about the bloody stupid aliens that they had ridiculously scared away.
